I would love for Fred Thompson to be the RNC Chairman. I was saddened when he dropped out of the Race for the Presidential Candidate for the GOP. But I think that he got in too late and from what I hear, his mom was very ill through most of his run. But with him at the helm of the GOP, I think that the GOP will get turned around and get back on track and bring the Party back to the Conservative side. The GOP has moved to far to the center and it has shown in the last few elections. Many of the base, Conservatives, stayed home or voted for 3rd party candidates.
I know there are few others that are running also. Lt Gov Steele is vying for the Chair and has the backing of Newt Gingrich. And I would fully support Steele also. But I think that Thompson is a bettre pick, but Steele would definitely be my second choice.
Go Fred Go Get the Red Pcik Up back out of the garage and help bring the GOP back home.

Fred Thompson may try for RNC post
By Jennifer Brooks • Gannett Tennessee • November 12, 2008
Fred Thompson seems to be seriously considering a run for the leadership of the national Republican Party, as the GOP prepares to rebuild from the rubble of the 2008 election.
Supporters of Thompson, a onetime presidential candidate and former Tennessee senator, are hopeful that he might run for chairman of the Republican National Committee, a position that would make the former actor public face of the GOP.
“I’m extremely excited that he’s considering it,” said Scooter Clippard, a Middle Tennessee businessman who spearheaded national fundraising for the Thompson and McCain campaigns. “It’s time for a change. Fred Thompson would be the absolute best person to articulate that message for the party.”—dnj.com

While yesterday was Veterans Day, we were all thankful for all the soldiers, seamen, marines and sailors have done fort his country. They protect the freedoms we hold dearly and at great sacrifice. Many leave famlies with young children for years, and leave family members and friends behind. And all to protect our freedoms and to protect us from those that want to do us harm. And all to often we forget that these men and women are human and have feelings and are longing for home. I got this email from my mom about one soldier’s quest to bring some of home in a far off place.
I sure hope the picture will go through for you – of this Army soldier in Iraq with his tiny “plot of grass in front of his tent. It’s heartwarming!! Here is a soldier stationed in Iraq , stationed in a sandbox. He asked his wife to send him dirt ( U.S. Soil), fertilizer and some grass seed so he can have the sweet aroma, and feel the grass grow beneath his feet. When the men of the squadron have a mission that they are going on, they take turns walking through the grass and the American soil.

If you notice, he is even cutting the grass with a pair of scissors. Sometimes we are in
such a hurry that we don’t stop and think about the little things that we take for granted.
Upon receiving this, say a little prayer for our soldiers that give and give (and give up) so unselfishly for us.
You don’t have to send this on, but gosh, who wouldn’t?
Always rememeber the little stuff and never forget to thank all those brave men and women for all their service to this country. And never take for granite the freedoms we have because of these soldiers, seamen, maries and sailors. And always remember them, not just on Veterans Day.
